Birthday

So I had a birthday in August and my amazing husband bought me an awesome gift. I have been wanting to see wicked for as long as I can remember and he finally made that a reality! I was so excited! We also had super AWESOME seats. We were about 6 rows up from the stage.

We also went to the zoo. It has been a couple of years since we went and I wanted to see the new Polar Bear exhibit.

We went to dinner with my old roommate and her husband on Saturday evening. I am horrible at taking pictures so this is the only picture that we took.

On Monday(my actual birthday) I took my first ever trip to Lagoon. As I mentioned in an earlier post I am not a fan of roller coasters at all. But I had never been so I decided to go. Especially because we had discount tickets and Jake loves Lagoon. We went with his Brother Eric, Eric's friend Chad and Jake's mommy. Here is the only picture I have of Lagoon. And of course since I am HORRIBLE at remembering to take pictures this photo is courtesy of Jake's mom. Thanks to my other mommy!

The Joy's of Home Ownership

Right before we went on vacation. I noticed that the vinyl tile in our bathroom was peeling up. So I decided to pull it up a little and discovered that we had a pretty bad leak in our bathroom and little bit of mold was growing. Not the thing you want happening right before you go on vacation. Here are a few pictures of our bathroom after I pulled the tile up, during and after it was fixed.

Vacation

In July, Jake and I went on vacation along with my sister, brother in law and niece. We had such a blast. We did some pretty fun things.
Our first stop was to visit my uncle Pat and his family. We all went out to dinner with my dad and his brother to one of my FAVORITE places to eat. It's called El Pescador. So good. Jake had never been there but he really liked it. You can't find food like this is Utah.

We went to the Santa Monica Pier and went to visit the LA temple vistors Center. I haven't been there since they remodeled it and it look really good.

We went to church in my sister's and brother in law's old ward on the Sunday we were in California. There was this elder who got up to sing a musical number and he did such a good job. Jake leaned over to me and pointed out that he had a Canada pin.(If you don't know Jake served a mission in Cananda and now LOVES the country. He served about 11 months of his 2 year mission in a town called Red Deer. That usually doesn't happen) Anyway, Jake looked at his last name and was like I think I know that kid. Low and Behold Jake did know him. Jake had served in Red Deer with this missionary's family. It was so cool for Jake. We took a picture to send to this missionary's mom. Jake actually posted it on Facebook. I thought it was so neat.

While we were in California, we stayed with my mom's best friend. A really special lady that has a great family. Her granddaughter was there and Kaitlyn(my niece) and their granddaughter asked Jake to read a story to them. It was so cute! I love the way he read to them. I was laughing really hard at first since I had never heard him reading to little kids though but I definitely know who will be reading the stories in our house when we have kids! For whatever reason it won't let me post the video so if you want to see it and haven't you'll have to check it out on Facebook.

While we were there my Dad took us all to Disneyland! We love that place. I'm not really a fan of the rollercoasters but I love everything Disney! We had so much fun!

We also went to and did the Universal walk and went to Hollywood to see some of the Hollywood Stars

They had HUGE boxes of candy!

Jake loves bacon and we saw this whole bacon section

I love Despicable Me and the fluffy unicorn. So I had to take this picture.

This was so cool. It's Marilyn Monroe all out of Jelly Belly's. It was made of thousands and thousands of Jelly Belly's.

So in front of Grauman's Theatre in Hollywood they have foot prints of Hollywood Stars. They also have people dressed up in costumes and you can take pictures with them.

I also got to meet my adorable nephew for the first time! He's such a cutie! Kait got to hold him and they look so adorable together. Cousin Love!

That's pretty much the jist of our vacation. We went to California again for a very brief trip. Unfortunately it was a sad trip. My Best friend's mom passed away. It was so amazing to be there and support her during this difficult time. I didn't get any pictures of her and me which makes me sad. I just got a couple of picture and they were of my brother and Jake playing a game. Jake has 2 phones. One is his personal cell and the other his work phone. So while Jake was playing on his work phone my brother Devyn played on his other phone. I tried to take a picture and told them to smile but they kept making faces.
